If you are using your excellent Airtel benefits and network, then you must link your active number with the Aadhaar card as soon as possible. The Government of India has directed that all the numbers that are active must be linked to the Aadhaar card. As per the Department of Telecommunication (DOT), you have to complete the process on or before 6th Feb 2018. Here is how you need to keep your Airtel number active.
What must you do before linking SIM with Aadhaar?
You must ensure some of the common things before you link your Airtel number with the Aadhaar card. The very first thing is that you must have an Aadhaar Card. If you do not have then rush to the nearest center and apply for the Aadhaar Card. Your card must have your active number as the instructions will be sent to that number. When you have all these, get Aadhaar link with the Mobile SIM.
You must visit your nearest Airtel Store.
Ask the executive to link the Aadhaar Card and the active Mobile SIM.
Provide the Aadhaar details and that will be feed into the Bio Metric verification system.
You will receive an OTP to the registered mobile number and share the same with the executive.
Verify your Fingerprint through the fingerprint scanner.
You will receive an SMS that your fingerprint has been verified from Aadhaar.
You need to verify your active SIM by providing the Executive the SIM and Personal details.
You will again receive an SMS from the Aadhaar in your Airtel number.
Reply the Aadhaar SMS by typing “YES”
Your Airtel active number will be activated forever.
